Pertaining to that, MISI has taken the initiative to organize “EDUCATIONAL HEARTEN CAMP” which flatters the importance of both English and Dakwah in its mission. “Hearten” means to raise your spirits. This program aims at enhancing the students’ fortitude and audacity to explore the beauty knowledge about Islam and the use of English. The uniqueness of this program is that we combine both English and Islamic knowledge together into our methodology.
This is actually a continuation series of “English and Dakwah Camp or END”. The previous two series of END were succeed and showed the positive impact. Hence now, with our strong will, we come out with an idea to continue this project to the third series but with a different name. For this time, MISI Club and inviting facilitator among IIUM students will collaborate to organize this program.
The theme is “Inculcating the Preaching through English, Flourishing the Beauty of Knowledge” means that English is one of the medium used in preaching. Apart from that, both knowledged in Islamic essentials and English are used and applied together as to give the produce students with better and balance knowledge on both.
The reason to conduct this program is to share the experience of da’wah in Sabah with other university instead of having IIUM students. Hopefully, this will widen the concept of da’wah and English enhancement skills among IIUM community in particular and the Muslims in general.

This induction was divided into two, where all the committees had their session with the Program Manager while all facilitators had their session with the Head Facilitators. The purpose of induction course is to sit together among the committees and facilitators to discuss things related for the program. What's needed, what's not. Clarification on the rules and regulation, briefing on the agenda, so on and so forth. Two groups have been formed to discuss any further matters related. We stopped at 4.30 pm.

The students, committees and facilitators went back to the dorm and took dinner altogether.
After Maghrib prayer, all the participants gathered at hall for Self Enhancement 1. This session was conducted by Bro. Syaufiq. This session is very interesting as we created 2 teams (boy and girl) and had a debate on the the issue of ‘Are man superior than women’.
The night continued with the 3rd Module. They played Abandon Ship! (Who would you save when you just don’t have enough room on your emergency boat?). Then we continued with You & I session. During this session, students were asked to create their sculpture that is going to represent their group. There are many interesting and they made beautiful sculptures as the committees feel very amazed with their creativity. We also feel very proud of their cooperation as a group in making them.

After that, we all proceed to the Operation Room for Self Enhancement 2. For now the topic is "Cinta". Then, we had our breakfast at 6.30 am then had a time for self-preparation.
Module 4 started at 9 am. Module 4 consist of 4 sessions which are : SWOT (Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat), Duck’s Nest, and Sort It Out!. SWOT was done to make the participants aware of their own ability and strength in order to have a better chance to pursue their dreams and to make the participants realize their weakness and turn it around as something that will be beneficial for them. The second session, Duck’s Nest’s objective is to train the participants in terms of working together as a team while sharpen up their ways of thinking in a creative way. The last session in Module 4 is Sort It Out!, where we want to focused on to improve participants vocabulary and understanding towards a certain word.
Module 4 ended at 10.30 am.
All participants had a little break before continued with the first talk session by advisor of MISI Club; Dr. Dolhadi Bin Zainuddin entitled ‘The Purpose of Studying English’. The session started at 11 am and ended at 12.15 pm for lunch and Zuhur prayer. After that, everybody gathered back at the hall at 1.10 pm for the second session with him.
The second session stopped at 2.30 pm.
The next agenda that was done is Module 5. In this module, facilitators chose to do the Duck’s Nest session that its purpose are to train the participants in terms of working together as a team. Here, there are one gimmick that was shocking to all people in the hall. The purpose of the gimmick was to tell and show the students how important the words "co-operation and teamwork". We wanted the students to understand the message delivered in the song "STAND TOGETHER by IN TEAM"which was the official song of the program. With the gimmick, we highly hoping that all the students can understand the hidden word behind the song. InsyaAllah.
During that night after Isyak prayer, all of us including the students gathered at the OR for the third Self Enhancement. This time, we discussed about Backbiting. We also showed them a video that shows the bad consequences of backbiting.
We continue our program with Cultural Night. Cultural Night is when we are able to see the students perform. All of us had enjoyed the Cultural Night as there a lot funny scenes that are created by them. We can see that the bonding between participants and the students has strengthening.
The night was continued with the Momentous Night. It was a sad night for us where we scolded them but not so harsh. Sometimes we also realized that they are not paying attention to what we said. This Momentous Night is done to make them realized that in this world everything is not easy. Some students cried when Bro. Syaufiq started to talk about parents and what have they done and give to their family so far. Not only the students, we as the committees also shed some tears.
We end our night at 1.30 am.
DAY 5 (10th July 2011 / Sunday)
After two days program, at last we managed to have a simple aerobic at the school gathering field. Without any music, we together with the students exercise a little bit. We taught them many games that can be used as exercise as well. Among them are ‘Laicikang, 10 cents song and many more. No more rigid shyness between them. Positive.
After had fun on aerobic, we sum up our exercise and went to the cafeteria to have our breakfast together. After we clean ourselves and packed all our belongings, we went back to the OR for next module session. In this module, they had to present to us their sculpture.
After that, at 10.30 am we get ready for the next exciting agenda, Explorace. The Explorace went for 1 hour and a half. A group came late and has been punished with the ‘Siput’ dance. We had a great time with the students.
Then we headed back to our dorm to have our last lunch together and rest.
Closing Ceremony
As the norm has written, what has begun, must have its own end. This program has come to the end. The Closing Ceremony started at 2.30 pm.
After the Closing Ceremony, it was time for the photo session. All groups took pictures with their facilitators then it was time for the committees and facilitators to gather and took a nice photos.
As we all realized, everything must have it end. So do with our program. After 3 days at Sekolah Menengah Agama Sandakan, we at last need to say goodbye. Even though we feel sad to be apart from our lovable little sisters and brother, what can we do? There are many important tasks that should be done by us. After marked a few important and useful words in their hearts, we waved goodbye to them.
My Dear Little Brothers and Sisters,
WE LOVE SMAS
Saranghae~~~~ :)
